After graduating High School at Morton West, District 201, I received my Bachelors in Biology at Trinity Christian College. During this time I took classes to receive my EMT certificate and started working at MacNeal in the Emergency Department. During this time I found it way more enjoyable to work with the children. I started forming relationships with my pediatric patients and wishing there were deeper. I was more drawn to the idea of inspiring and teaching children then I was healing them.
With a diverse background in healthcare, yoga, science, research, and travel, my tool belt full of skills allows me to properly prioritize and meet the needs of each individual student. Having to multitask in a stressful environment such as the emergency room and learn to be centered in the yoga studio, allows me to use a spectrum of useful teaching strategies for each of my students. Having this back ground allows me to reach and connect to my students that others may not be able to. Creating this bond help form a safe, respectful community within the classroom that will promote learning.
